MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a part-time (.5 FTE) Triage Tech for our Bloomington clinic. 



SUMMARY

The Triage Technician is a dual clinical role with primary functions split between handling patient phone calls and triaging ocular concerns to determine the urgency of clinic visits, and performing measurements and tests as part of the patient work up necessary for the provider to determine a diagnosis and provide treatment.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Phone Triage-Specific
  • Triage patient phone calls, answer questions and resolve concerns as directed by the provider to achieve patient satisfaction.
  • Determine the urgency for a clinic visit, if at all, and schedule patients accordingly.
  • Properly document all calls using the Patient Communication log in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Initiate tasks via EHR when necessary to enlist the assistance of other team members to resolve the patient’s request and/or concern.
  • Accurately complete medication refill requests obtained via fax, phone call, and patient portal.
  • Other phone-specific duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a full-time (0.8 FTE) Surgical Technologist for our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Bloomington. 

SUMMARY 
The Surgical Technologist prepares supplies, equipment and instrumentation for each surgery performed in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The Surgical Technologist will assist the physician with the maintenance of the sterile field and all supplies for each surgery. These individuals also assist the Nurse Manager in the maintenance of supply inventory. 
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gathers needed procedure appropriate supplies for each surgery.
  • Opens surgical supplies, sets up sterile field and maintains sterile field using aseptic technique. Identifies any break in sterile technique.
  • Anticipates the surgeons needs and requests appropriate supplies prior to their immediate need.
  • Updates surgeon preference cards as needed.
  • Reports missing or malfunctioning equipment and instruments to the RN in a timely manner.
  • Operates equipment required to perform job in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Performs sharp and sponge counts with the RN according to policy.
  • Disposes of sharps and hazardous materials according to policy and utilizes PPE.
  • Washes and reprocesses instrumentation according to established standards and ASC policy.
  • Organizes storage area for instruments and supplies under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
  • Labels medication on the sterile field.  Accounts for and verifies amounts, reporting totals to both the surgeon and the RN circulator.
  • Maintains knowledge of commonly used local anesthetics, antibiotics, and topical hemostats.
  • Assist RN as directed with physician orders according to patient needs.
  • Assists in initial Operating Room (OR) set up, including wet mopping floor and wiping down all flat surfaces and assists in initial decontamination room set up.
  • Cleans OR with appropriate disinfecting agents.
  • Assists in end of day clean up procedures.
  • Participates in staff meetings and in-services, accurately maintaining education file.
  • Other duties as assigned.  
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Current BCLS certification required or must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Surgical Technologist certification is strongly preferred.
Location/Schedule Details:
This position will be based in Bloomington and is 0.8 FTE (approximately 32 hours/week). Hours vary between 6am-4pm, Monday – Friday. While Bloomington is designated as the home location, travel may be required to all Minnesota Eye locations: Blaine, Minnetonka, and Woodbury.

MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a full-time Patient Financial Services Specialist within our Revenue Cycle department. This position is a hybrid position: work from home and in office (Bloomington).


SUMMARY
As a Patient Financial Services Specialist, you will help guide our patients through the financial impact of their medical services, from routine eye exams to surgical procedures.  This may include helping patients understand their insurance policy and what it may cover, providing estimated out of pocket quotes, and helping to establish payment terms that are mutually practical for both parties.    


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide great customer service to our patients via phone calls to obtain payment, set up payment plans, and pre-collect on procedures.
  • Help patients understand their insurance coverage and meet their financial responsibilities for services rendered or upcoming.
  • Communicate insurance co-pays, deductibles, co-insurances, and out of pocket expenses for point of service collections.
  • Process patient balances in accordance with collection procedures.
  • Review practice management systems (NextGen) for appropriate patient balances, payments, adjustments, overpayments, duplicate payments, or errors.
  • Handle aspects of patient collection processes in a timely manner and in accordance with lawful collection policy and procedures.
  • Notify collection agency of account transactions.
  • Participate in regular team meetings; provides positive feedback and suggestions.
  • Ability to navigate through and understand the Electronic Practice Management and Electronic Health Records (NextGen).

SUMMARY
The Information Technology (IT) Director is responsible for leading and managing the IT function across the designated region for all aspects of IT services. Oversight includes planning for IT services necessary to support organization priorities and goals, implementation of new capabilities, project and IT department leadership, support of current operations, and IT system performance and services to meet the operational and team member needs.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Uses knowledge of systems analysis, workflow planning, clinical and business requirements, and translates them into functional specifications and delivery of IT services. IT service functions include telephones, network, server, workstation, wireless, other related infrastructure services and PM/EMR performance.
  • Manages an IT helpdesk and Helpdesk Software system. Acts as escalation point for the IT team and leverages external resources as needed.
  • Manages all software applications, including reporting functions.
  • Manages system integration and data sharing across systems.
  • Leads and develops teamwork across the organization for the design, build, implementation, and support of the electronic medical record and practice management systems.

  • Manages operations and contingency planning for IT.
  • Uses evaluation and quality measures to monitor service effectiveness as well as the application of Healthcare IT best practices.
  • Manages service agreements and contracted service providers; communicates effectively with service partners to maintain productive working relationships. 
  • Applies current and evolving IT security standards, applicable privacy laws, HIPAA, and Meaningful Use standards.
  • Works closely with the Revenue Cycle team to ensure performance and workflow are maintained.
  • Fully develops and manages the regional budget with the SVP, IT.
  • Creates a high-performance IT team, including direction and support for IT team and direct reports. Identifies performance issues and seeks resolution.
  • Manages key projects for the SVP, IT and represents IT for CGB meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position will manage a team that could include Help Desk, Clinical System Analysts, and System Engineers.
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
  • 5-10 years related experience and/or training required with 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Patient care/clinic operations and electronic medical records systems experience a must.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify value and benefits of technology.
