Unifeye Vision Partners is currently hiring for a full-time Verification and Authorization Coorinator within our Revenue Cycle department. This position can be all remote or a hybrid position work from home and in office (Blooomington or Golden Valley). Flexibility for hours to range from 7a to 6p, working an 8 hour day Monday through Friday. Starting pay is $21.00-$25.00/hour. 

SUMMARY
Performs surgical benefit verification and authorization in accordance with business office and insurance industry policies and procedures. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Organize and track surgery information sheets by working with the daily scheduling reports and the Patient Care Coordinator staff.
  • Review Surgery Information Sheets for completeness of insurance information for the necessity for referrals, pre-certifications, and prior authorizations to ensure reimbursement at the highest level possible.
  • Verify insurance with respective insurance companies and file all necessary forms for prior authorizations, pre-certifications, and referral requests.
  • Verify, update, and enter insurance information into the practice management system (EPM) including policy information, benefit coverage, referrals and prior authorizations.
  • Identify, appropriately calculate, and effectively communicate estimated out of pocket costs for patients.
  • Provide timely responses to voicemail and email inquiries.
  • Provide feedback to Patient Care Coordinators and appropriate staff of necessary waivers or special instructions that may be needed.
  • Communicate with patients as needed to acquire necessary information.
  • Participate in regular team meetings; provide positive feedback and suggestions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate’s degree (AA) from two-year college or technical school; and/or one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination.
