The Sales and Marketing Outreach Representative is responsible for driving growth in new patient volume and local physician referrals for all brands/practices within the Unifeye Vision Partners (UVP) community located within the Inland Empire and Southern California market.
Success will be achieved through a mix of business-to-business (B2B) and direct-to-consumer (D2C) initiatives. Significant focus will be spent building relationships within the referring physician community and/or with industry/healthcare partners with the goal of growing referrals into our practice(s). In addition, finding creative ways to engage potential and/or existing patients for new and/or return services will be essential. Campaign efforts in this regard may include a variety of channels including social media, special promotions, health fairs, lunch and learns, traditional and digital media, and targeted marketing to select geo-fenced communities.
The position requires strategic and creative thinking, outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills, proven success with working in a sales/outreach role, and an understanding of accountability and reporting on metrics which demonstrate a return against all marketing spend.
Performance will be measured through regular reporting of key metrics related to growth in new patient volume, growth in physician referrals from new and existing physicians, the number of provider-attended events facilitated, and an increased volume in markets and service lines targeted for growth.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Build strong working relationships with the referring physician community to better understand and address opportunities for growth in referrals.
Build a strategic plan for time management each week to foster an effective use of time and maximum interaction/engagement with decision makers and influencers within the referring physician community.
Marketing and Business Development Experience?
Conduct initial, regular, and follow-up face-to-face visits with referring providers and staff members/influencers.
Closely monitor referral activity to be aware of trends in Top Referrers, Lowest Referrers, New Referrers, and significant increases or decreases – to monitor areas for continuous improvement.
Work closely with doctors, clinic, and office staff to ensure knowledge of practice capabilities, services, and strengths to successfully implement action plans for increased referrals.
Provide continuous feedback to supervisor regarding areas for potential improvement in business or marketing operations to improve physician relationships (and grow referrals.)
Identify events within the community and/or industry which engender referring physician and/or prospective patient engagement.
Partner with the operations team to ensure optimal efficiency of any aspects of patient experience, referring physician experience, and/or local marketing and advertising/promotional efforts.
Ensure brand alignment in the development of all marketing and sales collateral (D2C and B2B) for both internal and external audiences.
Act as company representative at community or industry events designed to grow relationships, referrals, and/or new patient growth
Work to support the NSC marketing team in the implementation of the regional marketing plan and channel/campaign mix (e.g., print and digital advertising, collateral material, paid search, SEO, social media, website content, reputation management, direct mail, radio, television, etc.)
Ability to flex and adapt to multiple demands of position – both in marketing the practices and building the volume of physician referrals

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
3 to 5 years of demonstrated success in an outside sales role and account management experience within an assigned territory
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with a customer-focused mindset to respond quickly to customer needs
Openness to coaching and ability to learn quickly
Experience using a CRM tool such as Pipeliner or Salesforce
Experience using suite of Microsoft Office Products including PowerPoint
Demonstrated results relevant to this position
Domestic travel time is required, varying by territory assigned (estimate 65%)
Ability to travel within the Inland Empire and Southern California markets, between clinic and office locations for the practice(s) and/or to meet with members of the referring physician community
Knowledge and experience with healthcare, insurance, and billing practices, compliance, enticement, anti-kickback, and other referral-based guidelines unique to the healthcare environment.
Experience or knowledge of ophthalmology, optometry, or ambulatory surgery centers is preferred, but not required
