Position Summary
The Regional Outreach Representative is responsible for maintaining relationships with practice referral sources and continuing the development, maintenance and growth of the practice, coordinating and implementing practice outreach programs, and serving as a patient advocate while representing, in a professional manner, the best interests of the Midwest practices within the UVP portfolio.
 
The qualified candidate must have exceptional and professional communication and follow through, customer service, and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.  Travel between Midwest region practices and affiliate locations is required. Position is eligible for quarterly bonus based on achieving specific identified criteria.     
 
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Conduct market research and analytics to stay informed of all local activity: competition, demographics, new providers, etc.
  • Identify potential referral sources; conducts face-to-face meetings with providers and staff members to develop relationships; increases referral base.  Designs and executes new programs.  Maintains a lead tracking system.
  • Utilize, update, and manage the UVP CRM system specific to all Outreach activities.
  • Track referrals and prepare referral routing, prospecting, and referral pattern analysis for management.
  • Serve as a liaison between practice and referral sources to resolve problems; replenishes marketing supplies.
  • Communicate with management and appropriate departments to keep them apprised of all problems or complaints regarding referral sources.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of the coordination of care process.  Meet with internal staff on a regular basis to determine areas for improvement.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled visits with referring providers and key staff to maintain strong relationships.
  • Attend various meetings and conventions. Supports public relations functions at conventions and industry meetings.
  • Maintain inventory of promotional and educational materials for referral sources.
  • Ensures referring doctors have the tools and resources available to access the most current information, forms, and understanding of our Midwest practice’s referral and co-management processes.
  • Manage industry continuing education program processes and events, like webcasts and mini fellowships.
  • Assist with Marketing department projects and events as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel regionally.
  • Ability to use applicable software programs and social media tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write reports and professional business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from referral sources, patients, and other customers.
  • Ability to problem solve and create innovative solutions.
  • Presents highly professional image.
  • One to two years of ophthalmic/optometric experience preferred.
