MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a full-time Health Information Supervisor. 

 
Location/Schedule Details: This position is based in our Bloomington clinic. Hours are Monday through Friday.
 
Summary:
Responsible for overall operations of the Health Information team. Performs the same duties as the Medical Records Assistants, as well as managing to make sure all duties are completed.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Maintain effective Health Information office functions, including but not limited to evaluating staffing levels, staff proficiency and job responsibilities; processing payroll; performance reviews, etc
  • Implement new processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain new hire training manual and procedures for new hires.  Ensures new hires receive appropriate training.
  • Maximize Health Information staff productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications and systems, effective utilization of resources and delegation of duties
  • Provide direction to team on current and new procedures.
  • Member of multiple committees, to improve patient care and satisfaction.
  • Assume responsibility for ongoing self-development and training.
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Leadership Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the Health Information department.   Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Direct or indirect responsibilities include training team members, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members.  Addresses team member issues and concerns, facilitates conflict resolution.

Incumbent is responsible for providing supervision and leadership to staff in the following job titles.
  • Health Information Specialists
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • High school education with 2-3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Previous EMR and EHR experience a plus.
