UVP has an opening for a Clinical Application Specialist that is hybrid in Bloomington.
 
SUMMARY
The Clinical Application Specialist will act as one of the primary contacts and expert for all aspects of line of business applications and systems.  Starting pay is $72,800-$83,200/year.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze, configure, and tailor applications and systems to the needs of the practice.
  • Provide primary support of Ophthalmology PACs, RTLS, SharePoint, and other line of business systems.
  • Support the IT and clinical teams with both clinical and technical details related to the development, maintenance, optimization, testing and support of UVP’s electronic medical record and other clinical systems
  • Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, and reporting
  • Primary to Assist with and resolving IT help desk tickets related to our clinical application systems.
  • Responsible to learn and understand functionality of EMR and other clinical systems and provide guidance for other IT and clinical team members.
  • Assists in the testing EMR and clinical systems for updates, releases, and new functionality to assure error free implementation and smooth transitions.
  • Provides training and assistance to IT support staff, management and clinical trainers who provide first level of support on how to respond to basic questions and troubleshooting for staff on data systems.
  • Ensure consistency and traceability through knowledge sharing, documentation, and training for system releases and deployments.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements.  Assist with the development of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and requirements.
  • Participate in clinical operations and business development discussions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Two plus years’ experience in Practice Management and EMR applications and systems support required. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of employees with different skill levels and technical knowledge.
PREFERRED
  • Clinical or IT Ophthalmology Experience
  • Nextech EMR experience
  • Centricity, Compulink and Nextgen PM experience
  • Knowledge of MIPs requirements and reporting.
  • Experience with HIPAA and Compliance
HOURS & TRAVEL
  • On call evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Must be able to travel to all UVP MN locations as needed. Must have a reliable transportation. Company will reimburse for mileage when traveling between sites.
