Sterile Processing Tech Job – Minnetonka, MN
This position is full-time (32 hours/week or 40 hours/week) and will be based at our Minnetonka ASC but may be required to work shifts at any of our other surgery centers in Blaine, Crosstown, Bloomington or Woodbury as needed. Starting pay is $22.00-25.00/hour.
- Assist with the decontamination, sterilization, packaging and storage of instrumentation.
- Keep accurate documentation of the above activities.
- Clean and disinfect the patient carts and other non-critical supplies used during surgery.
- Stock sterile supply rooms as needed.
- Assist RNs with patient admissions, including taking vital signs.
- Prep charts when needed, including tracking history and physical (H&Ps).
- Assist RNs with patient discharge.
- Complete routine monthly cleaning.
- Participate in staff meetings and in-services.
- Minimum of 1 year of medical experience as a medical or nursing assistant or related field required
- Sterile processing experience highly preferred
- Excellent communication and organization skills

MN Eye Consultants is currently hiring for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Ophthalmic Technician for our Minnetonka clinic.
Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing measurements and tests that provide the physician with the information needed to arrive at a diagnosis and to prescribe treatment. This position primarily works with Doctors of Optometry but may see patients for any MEC provider within their skill-set. Starting pay is $20.00-23.00/hour.
This position will work Monday-Friday, between 7:30am-5:00pm. May require an occasional 1/2 day on Saturday. The home base of this position is the Minnetonka clinic, but may be scheduled to work shifts at the other MEC locations as needed (Bloomington, Blaine and Woodbury).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Obtain complete patient histories including chief complaint, past ocular/medical history, family medical/ocular history and history of allergies and medications.

This includes but is not limited to: history, visual acuities, lensometry (manual and auto), refractometry, keratometry (manual and automated), visual fields, tonometry, assisting with office procedures

Northwest Eye has a current opening for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Ophthalmic Tech at our Minnetonka Crosstown clinic.
The Ophthalmic Tech performs diagnostic testing and work-up as delegated by the physician to allow for proper professional diagnosis of patient’s conditions and to do so in a way that instills patient confidence in the treatment. This position is a 40 hour per week position, regularly working M-F between the hours of 7am – 5pm. The home base of this position is Crosstown but will require some travel to the other Northwest Eye Clinic locations (Wayzata, Maple Grove, St. Anthony, Golden Valley, Woodbury).
Essential Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic assessment of children and adults with strabismus, amblyopia, diplopia and disturbances of binocular function
- Performs visual assessment of non-verbal patients using teller acuity cards, visual preference assessment and fixation assessment
- Binocular vision is assessed using stereo testing including Titmu, Randot E, Randot stereo tests, Lang and Haploscopic instruments such as the Synoptophore or Troposcope
- Ocular alignment is assessed using all methods available including prism and cover, single cover, simultaneous prism and cover, Maddox rod, Hirschberg, Krimsky and knowledge of the Bielschowsky three step test
- Vergence amplitudes for phoric deviations, both vertical and horizontal are measured when necessary
- Treatment plans for amblyopia; diplopia and other forms of strabismus are developed in accordance with the referring Ophthalmologist and carried out by the Orthopist
- Press on prism and sphere application
- Bangerter foil treatment and application
- Advanced lensometry, including measurements of prism in glasses
- Knowledge of visual malingering and the tests necessary to make the diagnosis
- Assisting in in-office procedure for adjustable suture
- Specific skill may include refraction, visual field testing, electrophysiologic testing, low vision testing and surgical assisting
- Communicates prescriptions and refills to pharmacies and documents in patient’s charts
